BUDDY VS THE KILLER

Buddy vs The Killer World Premiere

He’s taken on the UK, Canada and Australia and earned rapturous acclaim in London’s West End, and this time, Billy Geraghty took Singapore by storm.

British Theatre Playhouse’s world premiere of “Buddy vs The Killer” in Singapore which opened on the 4th – 8th May, 2011 at Raffles Hotel’s Jubilee Hall Theatre proves that great music from the early days of Rock ‘n’ Roll supported by a strong, all-British cast of eight actor-musicians led by Billy Geraghty – who plays both Buddy Holly and Jerry Lee Lewis – produces an electrifying result. The show simply ‘went a bomb’ everywhere it was performed — in Indonesia (at an exclusive preview at Turi Beach Resort in Nongsa, Batam), Singapore (at the Raffles Hotel, Jubilee Hall Theatre) and Malaysia (at the Hilton Kuala Lumpur).

Billy Geraghty was the West End star of the award-winning musical, “Buddy” (he played the part of Buddy Holly at The Victoria Palace in London’s West End) and he took on the formidable role of Jerry Lee Lewis in “Great Balls of Fire” at the Cambridge Theatre in the West End.

“Buddy vs The Killer” has eight, multi-talented actor-musicians each taking on multiple roles, in addition to playing their own instruments. It tells the story of two great rock ‘n’ roll legends, Buddy Holly and Jerry Lee Lewis and their music. The show also pays tribute to other outstanding musicians who changed the face of rock ‘n’ roll like Ritchie Valens, Johnny Cash, Carl Perkins and Elvis Presley.
